This is the Original Design Kenneth was master crafting 35+ years ago. Stonewall Tackle Co has Re-mastered this hydro technology. Check it out!!!
Kenneth was using a Spinner bait frame and reshaping for Buzz Bait.
By hammering the lead head flat, it helps the bait come up on plane faster and stay up with minimal speed. The 3 & 4 poly blade come up fast and can be slowly retrieved to keep in the strike zone longer.
Hammering the lead head flat streamlined the bait and reduced bait drag. The lead head did have a few structure issues but brilliant idea which STC has re-mastered and improved the streamlined design.
The offset allows bait to ride high in the water helping to avoid hanging up on vegetation, stobs, and structure. Riding just under the surface still gives it a great silhouette along the surface. The blade makes a great sound and surface disturbance grabbing fish attention.
The custom Stonewall Tackle Co lead head design. Keeping the flat head design for lift and streamlining the bait.
Growing up in Stonewall Tx, I had two fishing idols' that I looked up to, my Grandma Anita Burg and Kenneth Jenschke. Grandma taught me and my cousins how to seine for shad, set trot lines to catch catfish, and catch white bass at Lake Buchanan which grandpa took all the credit for, but grandma happily did all the work. Kenneth, taught me about bass fishing. I worked for Kenneth at LBJ State Historical Park in Stonewall Tx. Kenneth had a passion, ok let's call it an obsession, for bass fishing. He grew up in Albert Tx just outside Stonewall. Albert is a very small community, and I was told by his daughters that he started Albert Community Bass Club. He was the only member. Fast forward to 1989 when my buddy Leslie and I joined Fritztown Bass Club in Fredericksburg Tx where Kenneth was one of the founding members. Kenneth gave me a buzz bait unlike any other buzz bait I had ever seen. 35+ years ago, Kenneth was taking a spinner bait and hammering the lead head flat and reshaping it to run in-line and a little off set. I caught several fish but I was scared to fish with it because it might get lost. He had given several of the buzz baits he was making to his buddies in the fishing club and they still use them to this day. I loved sitting in his workshop while he drank a cold Lone Star beer and watching him create his "weapons of bass destruction". Look up that song title. Kenneth retired from Texas Parks and Wildlife and not long after lost his battle with that evil cancer. I lost and our community lost a good friend, mentor, and a great fishing buddy.
In the summer of 2023, I met Steve Sims. Steve created his own Awesome bait unlike anything on the market today. www.simstackle.com. I mentioned to him that I had a fishing buddy that made this buzz bait unlike anything I had ever seen at the time. Steve fired me up to get a cast made of the original bait and just figure it out. So here we are today with the Original KJ Buzz Bait with a few characteristics of my own design. Kenneth drove a Scrambler jeep that he pulled around his bass boat to all the Lakes in Texas. So, of course the name of the buzz bait has to be the "Scrambler". The sub-names for each bait has been derived from influential people in my life and things that just make my wife and I laugh.
Thank you to Kenneth for giving me his time and passing on his passion for fishing. Thanks to my dad for building a pond behind the house to fish with my mom (the best fisherman in our family) growing up and still today. Thanks to my wife for supporting any crazy idea I have. Thanks for your business, reading my story, and helping me keep this "Buzz" going.
Take a kid fishing.
God Bless!!!
The Scrambler is a in-line but offset buzz bait that cast great in all conditions. With just a few turns of the reel the bait is on top and begging for attention.. The Scrambler can be slow reeled with an alluring sound and action that bass can't resist. The Scrambler can be jerked occasionally during a return or burned through the water making lots of noise and surface action.
The Slutty Buzz is shinny and demands attention. It will turn heads in and out of the water. Great for finding active bass.
Under water sound test. I had seen several testimonials that a buzz baits does not make noise under water. Well, this video sound was captured 2 feet under the bait. Clearly, our buzz bait is making sound under the water. Get'em!!!
